Cedarhurst operates on a ‘relational dementia care’ model. 

Cedarhurst follows the Relational Dementia Care Model, which places relationships at the heart of caregiving. Our approach focuses on truly knowing each resident – their history, preferences, and values – and building trust through consistent, compassionate interactions.

At Cedarhurst, residents can stay until the end of their days. If there is a situation which requires more complex medical care, ie. feeding tube, trachea, 

, and/or if a situation becomes unsafe for other residents and staff. We would ask them to move to a place that can accommodate their needs or 

Cedarhurst currently does not offer respite.

Cedarhurst has an inclusive, transparent fee so that families are 

of their expenses associated with their care and accommodation. This fee may change according to their care needs.

Cedarhurst has a physician who is also the Medical Director available onsite and, as and when required.

At Cedarhurst, families are essential part of our Relational Dementia Care Model. We provide regular updates on residents’ well-being, care plans, and daily experiences, and we are always available to answer questions or address concerns.

The clinical team will collaborate regularly to discuss a multi-discipline approach to ensure that they find the best solution for each resident and their family.

Yes, all staff receive comprehensive training upon hire, and annually in all departments. The relational dementia care education is ongoing using best-practices.
